Nurse Practitioner - Hematology and Oncology (Locum to Perm)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with specialized experience in Hematology and Oncology to join our dynamic, high-volume practice. This is a locum-to-permanent position designed for providers committed to delivering exceptional patient care and seeking long-term employment stability. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex oncology patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing comprehensive evaluative and follow-up care.

Key Responsibilities:

Independently assess, diagnose, and manage patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.

Develop and implement individualized care plans in accordance with current clinical guidelines and best practices.

Conduct thorough patient evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and coordinate treatment strategies.

Collaborate closely with oncologists, specialists, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to ensure integrated patient care.

Educate patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and disease management.

Document clinical encounters accurately within the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Stay abreast of advancements in oncology treatment protocols and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications:

Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Louisiana (LA) or ability to obtain licensure.

3-5 years of clinical experience in Hematology and Oncology.

Proven competence in managing complex, high-acuity oncology cases.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.

Position Details:

Location:

Lafayette, LA (Remote or on-site as per current operational guidelines)

Employment Type:

Locum to Perm (transition within approximately 60 days)

Salary Range: $105,000 - $115,000 per year

Compensation reflects the permanent rate; providers transitioning from locum to permanent will be compensated accordingly.

Commitment to making a prompt decision within 60 days of starting.

This position does not open as a locum-only role; all providers should be prepared for long-term employment.
