Job Summary
This position acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and the Scope & Standards of Practice. The holder effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity;
and supports the organization’s nursing philosophy.
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Required:
None.
Required:
Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred:
Certification in a clinical specialty area.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good time management skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and be self‑directed.
- Good interpersonal, leadership, and delegation skills and ability to demonstrate sound judgement and supervise or manage others.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and interdisciplinary needs.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data and information to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and improvement in the nursing profession.
- Adapts communication style to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy and adapting explanations of services or procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Heavy work:
Exerting 50‑100 pounds occasionally, 25‑50 pounds frequently, or 10‑20 pounds constantly to move objects; conditions exceed those of sedentary work. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and potential hazardous medications or waste is inherent. Occupational risks for communicable diseases are present.
