Ochsner Health is seeking a dynamic and accomplished nursing executive to serve as Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Nursing at Ochsner Medical Center
, our flagship hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana
. This senior leadership role partners closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to drive nursing strategy, elevate patient care, and ensure operational excellence across a complex academic medical center.

• Provide executive leadership for nursing practice, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
• Partner with the CNO on strategic vision, long‑term planning, and systemwide initiatives.
• Mentor and develop nursing leaders while fostering an engaged, high‑performing workforce.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and patient advocacy.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams to advance organizational goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field (BSN required).
• Current RN license.
• 5+ years of hospital‑based nursing experience.
• 3+ years leading complex patient care and operational environments.
• Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
