Nurse Educator
Job Summary
This role develops, presents, and coordinates patient education programs. It includes providing orientation in service education, Electronic Health Record (EHR) training, life support course training, and continuing educational presentations for designated clinical services such as surgery, medicine, critical care, maternal/pediatric/newborn, ambulatory, and emergency services.
Responsibilities- Develop, schedule, and conduct one‑on‑one and group training sessions.
- Participate in system upgrades through analysis, testing, and development of documentation and training curricula.
- Develop program strategies including mandatory online training, supplemental modules, nursing research, and publication design.
- Initiate, evaluate, and conduct nursing research on patient education and care issues.
- Evaluate research impacts on patient care and provide recommendations.
- Identify research questions and pursue evidence‑based practice.
- Document participation in research and publication activities annually.
- Use current research findings to inform program and policy development.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required – RN diploma, completion of an accredited LPN program, or bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Preferred – Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Work ExperienceRequired – Five (5) years’ experience as a healthcare provider.
CertificationsPreferred – Current RN or LPN license in the state of practice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)- Proficient computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and relevant software packages.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

- Evaluate the effects of nursing research on patient care to make recommendations and take appropriate action.
- Identify research questions and proactively seek the best evidence‑based practice.
- Document participation in nursing research and publication activities annually.
- Utilize current research findings as a basis for program and policy development.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. This role involves walking or standing to a significant degree, and occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects. The job has no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and involves normal routine activities that do not expose the employee to blood, body fluid, or tissue.
However, exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste may occur through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, or disposal of contaminated waste.
