Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations, reporting to the Center Manager and overseeing donor eligibility determination, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, and blood testing.
- Apply SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care.
- Refer medical or technical findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate evaluation with occupational health/ER under EHS guidance.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state of assignment: EMT-Paramedic.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑required basic IV therapy certification.
- Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
- At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
U.S. hourly wage range: $23.04 – $31.68, subject to qualifications, experience, and location.
