Neonatal/ NICU Nurse, RN Nurse
RN-Registered Nurse // NICU – Neonatal Intensive Care $1,246 weekly stipends, $18 – $19/hour, $648 – $684 weekly base pay. Onsite contract, starts 8/10/2026, 8 weeks.
Job OverviewDay Shift, 12 hours per day, 3 days per week (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.).
Location:
Lafayette, LA 70503. Contract duration: 8 weeks, onsite.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (required). Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Experience: 2+ years in neonatal intensive care (required).
- Certifications (required): Current State of Louisiana RN license, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate.
- Certifications (preferred): Certification in a clinical specialty area.
- Skills: Good organizational skills, good time‑management and self‑direction, good judgment, good interpersonal skills.
- Effectively use the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care.
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Utilize data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Embrace customer‑satisfaction and employee‑morale enhancing concepts and behaviors, and improve the profession of nursing.
- Remain knowledgeable on federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to the area of responsibility; ensure compliance.
- Comply with Ochsner's System Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including immediate reporting of unethical or questionable behaviors and concerns related to patient/employee safety and privacy.
