Base pay range$16.00/hr - $17.00/hr
Title- RN Med Surg
Location-Lafayette LA
Shift- 7am to 7 pm
This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. It involves delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, ensuring quality patient outcomes, and demonstrating cultural sensitivity. The role supports the department's strategic goals and maintains professional responsibility and accountability.
Education- Required
- Registered nurse diploma. - Preferred
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, charge capable, and orthopedic experience required.
- Required
- Current RN license in the state of practice, BLS certification from the American Heart Association. - Preferred
- Certification in a clinical specialty area.
- Proficiency with computers, software, and web applications.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Good judgment and self-direction.
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care.
- Assess learning needs and implement appropriate teaching strategies.
- Manage nursing team resources effectively and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Use data to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale.
- Respect patient privacy and adapt communication to the patient population.
- Perform other duties as required, ensuring compliance with laws, standards, and ethical practices.
Requires exerting force, working in patient care areas, and exposure to blood, body fluids, and potentially communicable diseases. Must meet physical demands with reasonable accommodations as needed.
