American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a Compact or LA license, 2+ years of ER experience, and Epic proficiency for a fast-paced trauma-ready unit.
Details- Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department that treats trauma, medical, and psychiatric cases
- Facility is a Level I/II Trauma Center, STEMI-certified, and Stroke-certified
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours )
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Potential floating to other units
- No on-call requirements and no call-ins permitted
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Orientation held 5 days a week
- Active RN license (Compact or LA) required in hand upon submittal
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, TNCC, PALS (AHA format required)
- NIHSS and NRP certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Provide emergency care across a broad range of conditions including pediatric, psychiatric, trauma, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac emergencies
- Perform triage, apply splints, manage isolation precautions/PPE, and obtain 12-lead EKGs
- May be assigned to an emergency response team during declared events, which could require staying at the facility until relief arrives
- Scrub color required: royal blue
- Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be considered (no local candidates)
- RTO must be discussed during the interview process to avoid offer rescindment
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
