American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with a general adult/pediatric emergency department background, requiring an active LA or compact RN license and 2+ years of ER experience.
Details- Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric General Emergency Department within a Level I and Level II Trauma Center
- Facility is also STEMI and Stroke certified
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Potential floating to other units
- Opportunity for overtime, though not guaranteed
- No on-call requirements and no call-in shifts
- Active RN license (LA or Compact) required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, TNCC
- NIHSS certification also required
- PALS certification required
- AHA-issued certifications required for all listed certs
- Skilled in emergency care across pediatric and adult populations, including trauma, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and psychiatric emergencies
- Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and intubation preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Experience in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Skilled in orthopedic trauma care including splint application
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous charge RN experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Provide emergency care to a wide range of adult and pediatric patients, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric cases
- May be assigned to an emergency response team during facility emergency events, which could require extended on-site presence until relief arrives or the event concludes
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Orientation held five days a week
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a full year of separation from the facility before returning as a travel employee
- Two manager or supervisor references required prior to starting the contract (charge RN references not accepted)
- Up-to-date NURSYS report required within 4 weeks of submission
