American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience, a Compact or LA RN license, and Epic proficiency
Details- Level I and Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 1845 to 0715
- 1:3 patient ratio
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Potential floating to other units
- No call-in shifts required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Opportunity for overtime, though not guaranteed
- Orientation held 5 days per week
- Active RN license (Compact or LA) required in hand upon submission
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC (NRP preferred)
- All certifications must be through AHA
- CPI certification required, or candidate must be able to obtain prior to start
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Up-to-date NURSYS report required for consideration
- Experience with trauma, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, respiratory care, and neurological emergencies preferred
- Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring extended stay at the facility during emergency events, with pay details communicated as they arise
- Scrub color required: royal blue
- Must live more than 65 miles from the facility to be considered
- RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
- Two manager/supervisor references (not charge RNs) required in PDF format to obtain clearance to start, though not required for initial submission
- Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Training modules are completed during orientation and factored into orientation hours
