American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ER experience, Epic proficiency, and a compact or LA RN license in hand.

• Level I/II Trauma Center, STEMI and Stroke Certified general Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours )
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Potential floating to other units
• No on-call requirements and no call-offs permitted
• Opportunity for overtime, though not guaranteed
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active RN license (LA or Compact) required in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (all AHA-approved)
• NRP certification preferred
• Travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Current NURSYS report required, dated within 4 weeks of submission
• Skilled in trauma care, pediatric emergencies, psychiatric crises, IV therapy, ventilator management, EKG interpretation, and orthopedic splinting

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, respiratory distress, cardiac events, neurological emergencies, and psychiatric crises
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during facility crisis events, with expectations to remain onsite or serve on a relief team as directed by unit management
• Required to wear royal blue scrubs
• Orientation held five days a week
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Previous Ochsner Health staff or in-house agency contractors must have a one-year separation before returning as a travel employee
• RTO must be finalized and discussed during the interview process to avoid offer rescission
• Two manager or supervisor references (charge RNs not accepted) required prior to start, though not required for initial submission
