Role: Assay Technician in a manufacturing laboratory, responsible for analyzing precious metal samples to determine gold content and supporting quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform fire assay and XRF analysis on various samples, including production alloys and customer scrap.
- Prepare samples, log and track samples in laboratory databases, and conduct quality control checks.
- Handle chemicals safely, operate high-temperature furnaces and laboratory equipment, and maintain lab tools.
- Support lab operations through inventory management and organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent; 0-2 years of lab, manufacturing, or technical experience.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and analytical processes.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Preferred:
Associate degree or coursework in chemistry or materials science; experience with fire assay, XRF, and laboratory databases.
Work Environment: Laboratory setting involving exposure to high temperatures and chemicals, requiring standing, delicate sample handling, and use of PPE.
