Environmental Field Specialist

Description

The Environmental Field Specialist will conduct site assessments, provide the necessary information and support to produce exceptional reports and assist with environmental permitting for customers. The Environmental Field Specialist will work directly with the office manager to perform the job responsibilities and assist with mentoring and training junior staff in wetland delineations, T&E species habitat assessments, and project permitting. The Environmental Field Specialist will be a champion and leader of our company’s core values while maintaining internal and external customer engagement and satisfaction.

Some responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and conducting field work
• Preparing requisite reports and associated maps
• Leading wetland delineations and T&E species habitat assessments
• Developing and managing of stormwater pollution prevention plans
• Providing environmental and regulatory guidance on federal (USACE), state, and municipal laws to ensure compliance
• Supporting team members with project permitting at federal, state, and local levels
• Performing limited soil sampling

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in Environmental Science or related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of directly related industry experience preferred but not necessary
• Knowledge in plant identification
• Familiarity with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act
• Previous experience in wetland delineations, identification of hydric soils and plant species
• Proficiency in ArcGIS suite
• Ability to travel - may require occasional overnight stays
