This job provides security for patients, guests and employees as assigned; enforces company policies and procedures; and performs assigned duties that ensure the security of patients, guests, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
Responsibilities- Enforces all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
- Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
- Investigates accidents and other incidents which are assigned and reports all occurrences in a timely manner.
- Performs opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration.
- Participates in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
- Maintains required annual certifications and completes training requirements within required time periods.
- Operates and manages the visitor management system.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, introduction to the patient, explaining services or procedures, requesting permissions and appropriate communication style.

Required - High School diploma or equivalent - Work Experience

Required - None - Certifications
:- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (within 30 days from hire)
- Valid driver’s license in the state of practice and clean DMV report
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) (within 60 days from hire)
- International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire

Skills and Abilities
(KSAs):- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
- This position is considered Team A Essential Personnel and must report for duty in the event of a disaster.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to continuously walk the company property including outside areas, interior areas, using stairwells in 11 floor plus structure.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on-call availability).
- Medium work — Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. May involve walking or standing for significant portions of the workday.
- Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.
- May involve exposure to communicable diseases and occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or waste in a healthcare setting.
