Education

High School diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience

At least 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military.

Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of practice and clean DMV report
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) and firearms training
  • International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire
  • Employment contingent on successful completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days of employment
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

(KSAs)
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Proficiency with Windows applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be available to report for duty in the event of a disaster (Team A Essential Personnel).
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to continuously walk company property, including 11 floors and outside areas.
Job Duties
  • Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
  • Conduct routine inspections of on‑site and off‑site locations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, and report all occurrences in a timely manner.
  • Perform opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration and other related duties.
  • Participate in emergency response and preparedness drills.
  • Maintain required annual certifications and complete training within required time periods.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
Physical and Environmental Demands

Medium work: occasional 20–50 pound lifts, frequent 10–25 pound lifts, or constant < 10 pound movements. Requires walking or standing, light pushing/pulling, and may involve a production rate pace. No exposure to blood or body fluids is normally required, but potential exposure may occur. Must be willing to work in isolation rooms and may be exposed to hazardous medications or waste.
