Helpers

Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) is currently seeking experienced Industrial Multi-Craft Helpers.

Position Summary

An Industrial Helper-Multicraft will assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties. Will work with other crafts at levels appropriate to employee's training and skills as requested by supervisor. Must have ability to take direction from higher skilled workers or foremen. Helpers will assist with various manual needs of the construction work being performed including but not limited to moving equipment or materials, digging, retrieving equipment or materials, and any other miscellaneous support work instructed by a supervisor or a journeyman craft.

RCI has various levels of Helper positions based on experience and skills ranked as follows:

• Helper - Multi-Craft:
  Performs all duties listed above.
• Helper I:
  Same as "Multi-Craft Helper" but with 95% ability or greater.
• Helper II:
  Same as "Multi-craft Helper" but with 90% ability or greater.
• Helper III:
  Same as "Multi-Craft Helper" but with 85% ability or greater

Qualification Highlights:

• Must be able to meet all physical demands - see below
• Must have experience using industrial hand tools and power tools
• Must be able to regularly and reliably show up at the assigned job site
• Must meet all safety and security requirements at the job site

Position Responsibilities:

• Position may perform a large range of manual activities including but not limited to moving equipment or materials, digging, retrieving equipment or materials, etc.
• Climb onto structures or scaffolding as required in support of construction needs
• Uses rigging and hosting devices such as chokers, chain falls, and come-alongs to move equipment/materials into place
• Conducts preventive maintenance such as lubrication and fixing or repairing worn parts
• Follows directions from supervisor

• Good problem-solving abilities
• Good aptitude and manual dexterity
• Ability to work with others - Team player
• Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
• Commitment to Richard values, safety rules, and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) former employee from a Reduction of Force (ROF)
• Former RCI employee
• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Experience on an industrial construction site
• Formal/Technical education

Candidate Possession of Required Tools:

• Safety Toed Boots

Physical Requirements:

• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting
• Will talk and hear in order to communicate effectively
• Must have good dexterity with hands and fingers to perform the precision adjustments of tools, machinery parts and controls
• Able to use arms and hands to signal, grad, hold, turn, and push or pull objects such as materials, controls, and tools
• Will be required to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight
• Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work off platforms
• Capable of working at heights up to 300 feet utilizing proper fall protection devices
• Will use vision abilities to focus, see short distances, see colors, possess depth perception and peripheral vision
• Must be capable or working outdoors in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves, steel toe/safety toe boots, and masks/respirators
