PDS Tech is seeking dependable and motivated individuals to join its team as Field Service Specialist in Lafayette, LA. No prior meter installation experience is required. All necessary training, uniforms, tools, and equipment is provided to help you succeed.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, interacting with customers, and performing hands‑on work while supporting critical utility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect existing electric meters and install replacement meters.
Perform meter testing and document installations using company‑provided handheld devices.
Safely remove and install electric meters using hand tools.
Identify and report hazardous or abnormal meter conditions.
Meet daily installation and productivity goals.
Maintain strict safety, quality, and OSHA compliance standards.
Provide professional customer service while working in residential and commercial areas.
Requirements
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to pass:
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
Background check
DOT PHMSA-compliant drug screening
Ability to work independently and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to walk, climb, stoop, and perform physically demanding work for up to 10 hours per day.
Ability to use hand tools requiring up to 30 lbs. of force.
Preferred Qualifications
Electrical field service experience.
Gas or electric meter installation experience.
Experience using handheld devices, computers, and mobile applications.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Additional Information
Make-up rain days may be required.
Mandatory overtime may be required based on project needs.
All training, uniforms, tools, and equipment are provided by Honeywell.

Pay Details: $19.00 per hour
