Java Developer

Job Order: J - Permanent Full Time

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana, United States

• Help define and code the ongoing architecture and development of a Java/Spring application.
• Authoring and reviewing web application code in Java, JavaScript, Spring framework, SQL, etc.
• Participating in daily team discussions and code collaboration to promote continuous progress.
• Participating in client, industry, and end‑user discussions to help provide a technical viewpoint on the application.
• Participating in technical design sessions to create sustainable, high‑performing features and providing accurate estimates and development timelines.
• Continuous improvement of existing development tools and technologies.
• Authoring automated testing scripts for the application.
• Augmenting and improving system architecture.
• General understanding of database design and optimizing application access to backend data.
• Continuous direct interaction with clients and end‑users to understand software needs and discuss architectural and technical design choices.

• At least 4 years of experience in web application development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Java coding practices.
• Demonstrated experience with Java development and the Spring framework.
• Familiarity with RESTful web services and their use in dynamic UI.
• Experience with SQL and database tools to design and support the backend of a web application.
• Ability to work independently and within a dynamic team environment, consistently delivering quality code for team review and product owner demonstration.
• Experience with modern Java development environment and tools such as Maven, Git, Tomcat, Eclipse, Bamboo, etc.
• Understanding of RESTful service development.
• Confident communication skills with both internal team members and customers.
• Ability to quickly research, learn, and apply emerging technologies within the software development industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline.
• Positive, can‑do attitude and desire to contribute to team success.
• U.S. Citizenship is required; international hires cannot be sponsored.

• 1+ year of using Spring Framework in Java applications.
• Experience participating in an Agile development team.
• Experience using Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bit Bucket, Source Tree, etc.
• Federal consulting experience.

Compensation range (U.S.): $70,800.00 – $.
