CGI is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Automation Engineer to support the onboarding of new use cases into enterprise automation platforms and related cloud based solutions. The role requires hands‑on engineering expertise in a complex, AWS‑heavy environment, driving automation, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

This position is located at client sites in Lafayette, LA;
Knoxville, TN; or Columbia, SC, with a hybrid working model.

The engineer will:

• Design and maintain cloud automation workflows.
• Develop Python‑based integrations and support serverless and orchestration patterns.
• Collaborate across platform, application, and infrastructure teams.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems and improve reusable cloud patterns.
• Standardize platform capabilities across enterprise environments.

• 5+ years of hands‑on development experience with Python.
• Working knowledge of Java to understand or support existing components.
• Experience with core AWS services, especially Lambda, Step Functions, S3, ECS, and related services.
• Experience with SQL and No
  
  SQL databases such as RDS and DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform or Cloud Formation, in multi‑account AWS environments.
• Experience building, maintaining, or troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines using Git Lab.
• Comfortable working across distributed systems, cloud services, application pipelines, and platform integrations.
• Quick to ramp up in a large enterprise cloud environment with established standards and controls.
• Strong collaboration skills when working with platform engineering, application teams, and infrastructure groups.
• Exposure to Angular or frontend frameworks is helpful for supporting platform‑facing components.
• Nice to have: experience with RESTful API integrations, Generative AI or agentic AI concepts, and exposure to Azure or GCP.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Estimated range: $95,700.00 – $ (U.S.)
