CGI is seeking an enthusiastic, creative Senior Cold Fusion Developer to join a high performing Agile team supporting a large government agency. You will lead the maintenance and modernization of legacy Cold Fusion applications that are critical to agency operations, while guiding technical teams and collaborating with clients to deliver innovative solutions. This role offers the opportunity to shape modernization roadmaps, mentor developers, and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

This position is located in our Lafayette, LA or Knoxville, TN office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

• Lead and mentor technical teams in the maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of Cold Fusion applications.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize legacy Cold Fusion systems, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Develop and implement application modernization roadmaps and plans, including architecture assessments and migration strategies.
• Communicate technical concepts and modernization strategies to clients, end users, and leadership in clear, accessible language.
• Participate in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle: design, estimation, coding, code reviews, and demonstrations.
• Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and clients to define requirements and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Author and review application code in Cold Fusion, JavaScript, SQL, and related technologies.
• Utilize Java development experience and Oracle APEX knowledge to support integration, migration, or modernization efforts.
• Conduct technical design sessions to create sustainable, high performing features and provide accurate estimates and timelines.
• Author automated testing scripts and promote continuous improvement of development tools and technologies.
• Prepare documentation, architecture diagrams, and technical plans to support ongoing operations and future initiatives.

• Extensive professional experience developing and maintaining Cold Fusion applications, including legacy systems.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor developers.
• Strong communication skills for translating complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Experience developing modernization strategies, roadmaps, and migration plans for enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and Dev Sec Ops  principles.
• Hands on experience with SQL and database design for web applications.
• Ability to work independently and within dynamic team environments, continuously delivering quality code.
• Confident communication skills with both internal team members and customers.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline.
• 8+ years of work experience

• Professional experience with Java development (Spring, REST APIs, or related technologies).
• Working knowledge of Oracle APEX for reporting, prototyping, or integration.
• Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or containerization.
• Background supporting government or enterprise IT programs.
• Ability to quickly research, learn, and apply emerging technologies within the software development industry.
• Positive, can do attitude, and desire to contribute in various ways to team success.

A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $90,700.00 $.
