Position Overview

Warehouse Material Handler at Ryder System, Lafayette, Indiana.

• Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, forklift cycle counting, and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Accurately pick and pack, audit tote induction, stage products and load/unload trucks.
• Handle day‑to‑day paperwork including picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience (preferred).
• Valid forklift operator's license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse environment.
• Highly thorough, dependable, punctual with a good attendance record.
• Demonstrates initiative, high accuracy, and pays attention to detail.
• Able to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
• Familiar with health and safety methods and flexible to work various shifts.
• Prepared for additional screening such as background checks and motor‑vehicle records if required.

• Competitive pay: $18.00 per hour plus $0.50 shift premium.
