Essential Functions

Instruction:
* Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with academic state standards.
* Teaches face-to-face, hybrid, or on-campus, as needed, in accordance with college faculty loads.
* Instructs courses in a classroom/lab/clinic/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.
* Utilizes current technology in the classroom/lab/clinic.
* Evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
* Grades all coursework in a timely manner.
* Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues.
* Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline.
* Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
* Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline
* Attends professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
Safety/Technology
* Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline of the Automotive Technology program.
* Supports faculty to ensure all equipment is in working order.
* Suggests new/updated technology to remain current with trends and developments within the field.
* Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.
* Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and always maintained.
Curriculum/Student and Program Learning Outcomes
* Develop program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives.
* Prepares lesson plans for instruction.
* Works collaboratively with faculty within the discipline to establish, measure, and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits to the appropriate program chair/director.
* Submits reports and data with respect to accrediting bodies.
* Reviews and edits master course shells in the online learning platform as necessary.
Supports Program Director/Division Deans/Associate Deans
* Requests and maintains supplies and equipment.
* Prepares budget requests.
* Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
* Serves on committees and project assignments as necessary.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional classroom/lab/clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office/classroom/lab equipment and technologies.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move classroom/lab equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time instructional position. The workload is Monday-Friday day/evening hours. Weekends based on need.
Travel
Travel to other campuses is a possibility for teaching assignments, meetings, trainings, and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Diploma in Automotive Technology, Automotive-Electric Vehicle, or related diploma/degree from an accredited post-secondary institution.
* Three (3) years of field experience. (Must include experience in Electric Vehicles
* Master ASE Certification, xEV Level 1/2 Certificates, or ASE eligible
* Valid Driver's License
Master ASE and xEV certificates are required within one (1) year of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications:
* An associate degree in automotive technology or related field.
* Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
