Qualifications:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To perform under the general supervision of the classroom teacher.
- Conduct small group or individual classroom activities based on the lesson plans developed by the teacher.
- Assist with supervision of students.
- Assist with student assessments and collecting data on student progress.
- Assist with routine record keeping.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for instruction (including the copying/duplicating of materials, construction of displays/bulletin boards, learning center, and manipulatives).
- Locate, operate and return needed equipment.
- Assist in ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials.
- Assist with classroom housekeeping.
- Attend the required Office of School Readiness curriculum training.
- Assist students in toileting/hygiene when needed.
- Maintain paraprofessional certification and complete required professional learning hours.
- Any other duties assigned by the teacher and/or school administrators.
Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met.
Working Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires constant physical demands: 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and occasional heavy lifting/carrying.
Evaluation:
System evaluation completed by supervising teacher and/or Principal/Assistant Principal/Instructional Specialist.
