Technical Specialist
A Technical Specialist is responsible for quality installations, rebuilds, maintenance, and repairs to Blow Mold process machinery. Breakdowns will require troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components and circuits. Field Service is part of a team which is responsible for the direction towards improved reliability and output of the Blow Mold manufacturing business.
Provide essential safety recommendations, inspections and repairs on machinery as necessary
Provide quality installations, troubleshooting, repairs and rebuild of Blow Mold machinery and auxiliary equipment.
Support plans for preventative maintenance techniques and procedures for processes.
Be able to supply technical advice or service for all machinery onsite.
Must be proficient or capable of being proficient in Blow Mold control systems
May conduct training in the operation and maintenance of equipment & process.
Must be able to maintain good customer relations and communications with all plants and upper management
Critical spare parts purchase recommendation and procurement
Must be able to lead and train less experienced maintenance technicians and processors when assigned to similar projects
Supports design engineering solutions that meet the manufacturing facilities requirements while monitoring budget constraints to maximize production equipment quality and efficiency.
Assists in the preparation of the scope of a project, cost justification and AFE (overall cost proposal) to senior management for approval as required.
Maintains awareness of and supports project cost, quality, scope and schedule to ensure on time delivery of projects within internal budgets. Prepare any necessary progress reports.
Supports R & D activities concerned with integration and testing of Blow Mold machinery and auxiliary equipment.
Apply mechanical theory, mechanical testing procedures and related knowledge to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production equipment.
Works with maintenance department to ensure preventative and predictive maintenance tasks are effectively completed when necessary.
Evaluates, selects, and coordinates with OEM and outside vendors for design, fabrication and installation/repair of equipment / processes.
Requirements
Associate degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or minimum of 5 years' equivalent experience working in Blow Mold processes
Extensive "hands on" experience with plastics molding machinery and processes required
Experience with hydraulics, controls, electrical systems, and mechanical systems
