Position Summary
The Senior Loan Operations Specialist - Team Lead is a supervisory role responsible for daily operations and overall management of the loan operations team. The position ensures efficient and accurate processing, servicing, and reporting of loan types including mortgage, consumer, small commercial, and lines of credit.
Job Duties /Responsibilities- Leads, mentors, and supervises the loan operations team.
- Fosters a collaborative environment, promoting continuous improvement and accountability.
- Monitors staff performance, conducts reviews, sets goals, and provides training and development opportunities.
- Oversees loan servicing lifecycle, including new loan onboarding, payment processing, payoffs and collateral management.
- Ensures accurate and timely servicing of the loan portfolio.
- Develops, reviews, updates, and implements departmental processes and procedures to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensures adherence to applicable government regulations and policies in servicing loans.
- Assists with internal and external audit requests and compliance reviews.
- Identifies areas for improvement in loan operations processes and implements solutions.
- Stays abreast of system requirements, updates, and opportunities.
- Assists with implementing new products and services, including testing and rollout.
- Provides high-quality customer service to borrowers and assists with inquiries.
- Communicates effectively with bank department managers/officers to ensure smooth workflow and positive working relationships.
- Partners with subsidiaries to ensure smooth intracompany transaction processing and communication.
- Strong leadership, team management and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of loan processing and servicing functions.
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently to organize and prioritize tasks, manage time to meet deadlines, analyze requests, understand issues and develop appropriate solutions.
- Understanding and application of statutory and regulatory compliance matters as appropriate for the position.
- Proficient in using a computer and banking software programs and platforms.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in a servicing environment with at least 3 years of additional experience as a team leader or in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated excellence in collaborating with peer teams across organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and banking software programs and platforms.
