Position: Practice Supervisor - Orthopaedics, Full-Time, Days

Overview

Job Description Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine Care Network, as a Practice Supervisor at our La Grange clinic. Here, you will work with our Orthopaedic team. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. Our new orthopaedic clinic will offer easy access to exceptional orthopaedic care for adult and pediatric patients in the western suburbs.

The new site will be staffed by a team of highly skilled UChicago Medicine orthopaedic surgeons specializing in preventing, diagnosing and treating joint, hand and pediatric orthopaedic conditions. Located in the medical office building on the UChicago Medicine Advent Health La Grange Hospital campus.

Essential Job Functions
  • Daily supervision of clinical and administrative operations. Including:
    Establishes staff schedule and daily assignments.
  • Ensures practice compliance with regulatory agencies (i.e. JCAHO, IDPH, CAP/CLIA).
  • Collaborates with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient throughput.
  • Ensures patients and family’s needs are met.
  • Participates in service recovery at the point of issue.
  • Ensures necessary follow-up.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to build employee morale and individual motivation.
  • Monitors patient service feedback and helps resolves complaints and service issues.
  • Coordinates activities with other practice supervisors, the practice manager, clinical staff, administrative staff, and physicians.
  • Assures that the employees are HIPAA compliant during clinic operations.
  • Supervises the intake of patient information to ensure accuracy.
  • Provides direct supervision to nurses and subordinate staff, ensuring appropriate assessment and treatment of patient health.
  • Serves as key problem-solving resource for staff on patient issues.
  • Studies patient needs/trends, analyzes patient flow problems, and suggests solutions to patient care problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree in related field
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare and customer service, ideally in an ambulatory practice.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to manage large and complex organizational units with varying needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with physician leaders, preferably in an academic medical center environment.
  • Exceptional talent in the selection and mentoring of a high-quality team.
  • Proven ability to use data to drive performance improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.
