Position Overview

The Production Supervisor assists the Production Manager, coordinates and manages assigned resources and associates to meet safety, quality and production goals.

Essential

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Quality
    • Investigate and communicate quality concerns.
    • Conduct audits of varying types.
    • Drive continuous improvement.
    • Monitor product quality and take appropriate action when not meeting specifications.
  • Safety
    • Lead and organize investigation of safety incidents.
    • Be a First Responder.
    • Continuously monitor safety processes and compliance.
    • Conduct safety minimum job requirements as required by the Corporate Safety Standard.
  • Productivity
    • Ensure shift is properly manned and cover attendance issues as needed.
    • Lead projects assigned by management and communicate status.
    • Assist with shipping and receiving as necessary.
    • Maintain housekeeping and audit each area of the plant.
    • Take appropriate action to keep production moving.
    • Use good judgment when involving management.
    • Utilize key operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, machine downtime, and expenditure control.
    • Support and implement special instructions provided by plant leadership.
  • Personnel
    • Enforce discipline.
    • Give direction to shift shop personnel.
    • Assign associates to tasks and hold them responsible.
    • Ensure associates are properly trained and assist with scheduling retraining.
    • Maintain attendance records and conduct milestone conversations.
    • Keep up with all certifications on shift and follow up on OJT paperwork.
    • Communicate expectations and hold people accountable.
    • Develop and maintain a respectful workforce.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and implement development plans.
    • Achieve results through others.
  • Administrative
    • Lead team meeting.
    • Ensure proper paperwork is completed.
    • Ability to use current computer software and hardware.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Current or prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
    • Minimum education level of High School or GED.
    • Ability to use current computer software (MS Office and Outlook) and hardware.
    • Be at the top pay rate for current location within the job classification; internal candidates only.
    • Must be able to lead team and shift meetings.
    • Able to achieve results through others.
    • Must be able to work the required schedule, including some weekends.
    • Ability to make sound, logical decisions.
    • Willing to be trained in CPR, First Aid, and Defibrillator.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Good technical or process knowledge as it applies to the facility.
    • Prefer education beyond High School.
    • Ability to use SAP.
    Skill Requirements
    • Ability to read and write.
    • Basic math calculations.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Comprehend written/verbal instruction.
    • Computer data entry skills.
    • Operate a lift truck safely and efficiently.
    • Adhere to all plant safety specifications.
    • Work as a team member with little supervision.

      Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. 20% of day.
    • Ascending/Descending:
      Ability to walk upstairs 20% of day.
    • Push/Pull/Reach:
      Ability to push/pull fabric rolls, A-frames (approx. 1500 lbs) 20% of day.
    • Bending:
      Ability to bend or stoop while performing job tasks 30% of day.
    • Visual Acuity:
      Adequate visual acuity for reading on printed sources and computer screens 100% of day.
    • Cognitive:
      Alert; able to make decisions, reason, and understand information 100% of day.
    Work Environment / Safety‑Sensitive Position
