Position Summary:

Facilitate in the manufacture of quality brake pads

• Press Operations:
  Operate molding presses as set forth by Operating Procedures. Read and interpret specification sheets and accompanying gauges and monitors; troubleshoot problems and keep presses in full production; produce pads that meet quality specifications; communicate with press support to address quality problems identified by test procedures; operate presses safely following all safety guidelines; maintain a clean and orderly area following 5S;
  
  know the product schedule for the shift and ensure all product is available to meet requirements; notify supervisor of any quality, safety, or production problems; communicate with operators on other shifts and keep them informed of activity/problems during the shift; complete all paperwork reporting production and press activity.
• Finishing Operations:
  Ensure proper machine settings; clear finishing line machine stops; unload exit conveyor, perform visual checks, and fill totes according to style; setup grinder according to specification; keep the finishing line running.
• Quality Checks / Paperwork:
  Perform visual checks on all pads for quality and paint/grinding; complete the Finishing Process Inspection Report; report finishing line production and scrap for the shift; fully complete Finishing Lot Cards and Lot Summary Tickets; complete finishing line check-sheets including paint booth cleaning.
• Cleaning:
  Paint booth cleaning (major cleaning) once per shift and as needed; clean grinder shavings; general clean-up following 5S procedures.
• Support Operations:
  Supply correct powder and plates to each press; follow production demand; ensure release agent bottles are filled at the start of shift; reapply HMIS labels as needed; load/unload press lines with plates; conduct tests; notify supervisor and press operator of quality problems identified from test results; complete control graphs; operate the Combination Line when required; maintain orderly and clean area;
  
  assist in cleaning machines; weigh pre-form material and record as necessary during shutdown; return empty powder boxes and plate totes; follow safety guidelines and report hazards to the Supervisor.
• General Operations:
  Follow area safety rules and JA-HR-C-010 General Plant Safety Rules; wear required PPE (safety glasses and hearing protection); lift 35 lbs or more frequently; place finished product on roller conveyors with complete documentation; use hand tools to change tooling; maintain excellent attendance.
