Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs production and facility equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime in a fast-paced bottling and packaging environment. This role focuses on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, supporting bottling lines, conveyors, filling systems, and packaging equipment while upholding strict safety and food quality standards.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, including bottling lines, conveyors, filling systems, and packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, PLC-controlled, and automated systems to restore equipment performance quickly and effectively.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Maintain and repair motors, pumps, compressors, valves, and HVAC systems to support continuous plant operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose issues and guide repairs or modifications.
- Perform electrical diagnostics on wiring, sensors, and control systems, including work on systems up to 480V.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose root causes, and implement repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment and system upgrades.
- Ensure adherence to company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and food safety standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records using maintenance systems and documentation tools.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and overall line performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing maintenance-related process enhancements.
- Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices in a manufacturing or bottling environment.
- Hands-on experience performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance on production equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, including platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
- Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics on systems up to 480V.
- Demonstrated skill in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, vibration analyzers, and thermal imaging devices.
- Experience with preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing blow molding and injection mold plastic equipment.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including wiring, sensors, and control systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for managing work orders and maintenance records.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Approximately 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, food and beverage, or bottling industry environment preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Welding and fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, or Stick) preferred.
- Experience working with blow molding and injection molding equipment in plastic production environments.
- Experience in supporting bottling and packaging operations, including conveyors and filling systems.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production and quality.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and records.
