Technical Kitchen Designer​/Architect

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Technical Kitchen Designer/Architect located in Laguna Beach, CA. The candidate will collaborate with clients to design high-end kitchen spaces, translate client needs into creative design solutions, and provide accurate, detailed technical drawings and specifications. As a key member of the Poggenpohl Laguna Beach team, you will work within a culture that emphasizes creativity, precision, and client satisfaction.

The role demands expertise in high-end cabinetry design, kitchen functionality, and the technical knowledge to deliver exceptional results on time and within budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conceptualize bespoke kitchen layouts that balance luxury aesthetics with functional workflow (work triangle, prep zones, storage optimization).

Create Technical Drawings & Specifications

Produce detailed cabinetry layouts, elevation drawings, and installation specs; specify materials, finishes, hardware, and construction details.

Translate Client Needs into Design Solutions Convert client visions into kitchen-specific solutions (storage needs, appliance integration, workflow preferences, style direction).

Apply Cabinetry Knowledge

Specify luxury cabinetry materials, finishes, and installation processes; ensure compliance with construction standards and Poggenpohl quality specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Kitchen Industry Experience

Must have worked in kitchen design or a related field. Knowledge of luxury kitchens and high-end cabinetry is essential.

Kitchen & Bath Design Proven experience creating kitchen designs and technical drawings.

Ability to design functional, attractive kitchen layouts.

Design Software Proficiency Must know AutoCAD, 2020 Design, or similar design programs.

Ability to create accurate technical drawings quickly.

Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas effectively to clients and team members.

In-depth knowledge of Cabinetry materials, finishes, and installation processes.

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work on time and within budget.

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
