UCI Health hematologic oncologists provide expert consultation and treatment for patients with many different types of cancer, including malignancies of the blood such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, as well as solid tumor carcinomas such as colon, breast and prostate. We also offer the only adult hematopoietic stem‑cell transplant services in Orange County, providing comprehensive care at the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
YourRole on the Team
The Nurse Practitioner II in the Department of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology Division, will be a critical part of the team caring for patients at the Laguna Hills Infusion Center, UCI Health – Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. Under the supervision of Medical Director(s) and the Nurse Practitioner Supervisor, you will participate in comprehensive care of patients in an ambulatory setting, providing multidisciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.
ThisPosition May Perform
Functions as appropriate to the scope of practice, including the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures per approved standardized procedure. Familiarity with state statutes for nursing licenses is required. Responsibilities include patient care across age groups and health‑licensed settings, credentialing, privileging through Medical Staff, and collaboration with supervising physicians.
Total CompensationSalary range $85.48–$117.33 per hour. Benefits include medical insurance, sick and vacation time, retirement savings plans, and access to discounts and perks.

Required- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the program and UCI Health System.
- Ability to exercise diplomacy and flexibility in interacting with physicians, nurses, other paramedical personnel, administrators, emergency and law‑enforcement officers.
- Demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Skill to clearly communicate medical information to a broad variety of people, both in person and over the telephone.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Writing skills to prepare clear medical reports, laboratory data and progress notes. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Ability to be trained in the use of specialized medical equipment and procedures.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and adheres to privacy, confidentiality, and security policies and procedures related to Protected Health Information (PHI) or other sensitive and personal information.
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Educational training and/or experience to support setting and patient population.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current, active, unrestricted Federal licensing and DEA registration.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
