PositionSummary
The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is the heart and soul of the Lids brand. ASM manages all aspects of retail store performance, including achieving key results, creating a fun and inclusive environment for the team, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ASM acts as Manager on duty when the Store Manager is absent, oversees scheduling, staff development, operations, and inventory.
Responsibilities- Act as Manager on duty for employee scheduling issues, customer complaints, etc., when the Store Manager is absent.
- Manage store associates through LIDS Training Programs, goal setting, and regular follow‑up.
- Administer progressive discipline, including verbal and written warnings.
- Engage team members to create a fun and productive environment and explain how their work supports company objectives.
- Contribute to a respectful and inclusive team environment by establishing supportive relationships and adhering to brand standards.
- Schedule and staff the store, including calling in associates during unexpected peaks when the Store Manager is not present.
- Participate in training programs, adhere to sales and task goals, and conduct regular follow‑up.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and onboarding store personnel on proper operations and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including safeguarding inventory, funds, and property.
- Lead, execute, and assist Lids selling strategy to achieve KPIs and sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Resolve customer feedback and escalations, aiming to “make it right.”
- Advise customers on membership programs and special in‑store offers.
- Adhere to visual guidelines, proper merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness.
- Maintain professional appearance consistent with the Dress Code Policy.
- Execute operations‑focused company directives, promotions, and initiatives.
- Understand and follow the Policies & Procedures Manual to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain store technology and equipment (MPOS, Lids Custom, etc.) through daily audits, updates, and repairs.
- Manage store facilities, supplies, and services, including service requests, maintenance, and replenishment.
- Effectively manage cash, including opening/closing till, counterfeit protection, and bank drops.
- Prepare the store for inventory audits and support their execution.
- Open and close the store following the Operations P&P Manual procedures.
- Protect company assets within LIDS retail policy guidelines.
- Assist in preparing store work schedules within wage control guidelines.
- Follow all policies to accurately manage inventory (receiving, transferring, price change, counts).
- Organize the backroom for maximum efficiency and space utilization.
- Execute optimal layout and visual merchandising strategies, including window activations, hardware flips, and seasonal changes.
- Maintain the store’s look through day‑to‑day VM and store actions.
- Execute special pricing signage and promotional adjustments during operations.
