Position: SEASONAL LINE COOK - BEACH HOUSE
Location: North Barrington

We are currently looking for seasonal summer employees to work at our Beach Club House, which will be opening Memorial Day weekend. These positions are for a short-order kitchen, where the staff will be working on either the cold side (salads/fryer) or flat top/grill. The hours will be Tuesday through Sunday, with shifts from either 9:00 am to 2:00 pm or 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm (or until close).

This would be a great opportunity for any looking to improve their kitchen fundamentals or gain experience.

Qualifications
  • Ability to cook food correctly in a timely fashion while focusing on quality and presentation.
  • Able to read and understand recipes and procedures.
  • Able to use kitchen tools and appliances safely and effectively.
  • Prior Experience working in A Ala Carte Kitchen
  • Knowledge and experience of various cooking techniques
  • Employee is occasionally required to lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, taste and smell
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be standing for extended periods of time
Responsibilities
  • Set up and Stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Daily cleaning of the Pantry/ Cooler, Cooking Line and Prep Area.
  • Provide Excellent Quality and Presentation of all food to the Guests in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the managers and employees in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and organization of station.
  • Comply with sanitation regulation and safety standards.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Executive chef or Sous chef.
  • Follow Departmental polices as well as club rules and regulation set forth by Employee handbook and by management.
