The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting department, managing all accounting staff and providing assistance with accounting, maintenance, and reporting of all accounting applications. The manager is responsible for all functions of the department.
SupervisionReports directly to the Accounting Controller.
Responsibilities- Manage payroll employees, accounts payable employees, and staff accountants.
- Oversee and assist with all functions of the accounting department.
- Provide assistance in accounting, maintenance, and reporting of all accounting applications.
- Communicate appropriately with management, internal auditors, and external auditors.
- Protect patient information and maintain confidentiality.
- Actively participate in department/hospital cost‑saving and productivity initiatives.
- Stay knowledgeable of and participate in the implementation of policies and guidelines in the department.
- Attend required departmental meetings.

Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and equivalent work experience in the accounting field.
- 7–10 years of experience working in accounting.
- Advanced computer skills: proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced mathematical skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents.
- Ability to define and solve problems individually.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeating motions that may include wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Work is primarily sedentary in an office setting located off‑site. Office hours are Monday through Friday during the day. May be required to work off shifts as needed, on weekends, or on holidays based on projects.
