Project Overview

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid‑scale, mixed‑refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre‑treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four heavy‑hydrocarbon removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000 m³ full‑containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, coordinate subcontract work activities and team development, and ensure that craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, job site rules, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.

Major Responsibilities Leadership/Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 50 craft)
  • Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
  • Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
Planning/Productivity
  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Coordinates established area operational plans.
  • Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas and clients’ resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.
Safety/Quality
  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
  • Ensures the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
Technical
  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
  • Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
Field Inspection

Physical Requirements

Work includes field inspections and requires extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress) and to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (e.g., harness, life vest, lift buckets).

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience, or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of a single or multi‑discipline construction or engineering operation.
  • Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies, and of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
  • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
  • Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire union workforce.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • An understanding of the application and requirements of Project Environmental, Safety & Health.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team‑based environment.
