Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed‑refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River.
Job SummaryThe Workface Planner Piping / Mechanical will prepare Installation Work Packages (IWPs), Material Take‑offs (MTOs) for specific disciplines and support office construction activities, including constructability reviews, ensuring safety in design, and providing construction input to engineering and procurement teams to improve Total Installed Cost (TIC).
Major Responsibilities- Develop Installation Work Packages (IWPs) for Piping / Mechanical installations and create detailed IWP release plans (90‑Day schedule) with the Responsible Superintendent and Field Engineer.
- Review general installation priorities, sequences, access, resources, equipment needs, pre‑work, materials, and support services to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare the scope of each IWP in coordination with the Piping / Mechanical Field Engineer and obtain approval.
- Perform random checks of IWPs assembled by other Workface Planners.
- Understand work packaging philosophy, scope of installation, Work Breakdown Structure, and scoping of installation work packages.
- Monitor project schedule and coordinate with Project Controls, planners, and stakeholders to issue IWPs as per project priorities.
- Ensure quality of IWPs, with correct scoping and preparation from the first attempt.
- Attend progress meetings, maintain effective interface with site management and client organization to deliver IWPs and advance work packaging efforts.
- Compile Piping / Mechanical installation drawings, installation details, model snapshots, vendor drawings, inspection test records, and other engineering deliverables into detailed IWPs.
- Support development of material take‑offs for Piping / Mechanical bulk material and vendor components; upload quantities and attributes into the project database.
- Prepare IWP constraint lists, assist in resolution and closure of constraints or engineering issues, and manage constraints.
- Facilitate planning discussions with superintendents and field engineers for each area across all disciplines.
- Develop and maintain project readiness review programs and craft discipline‑specific readiness review packages.
- Oversee readiness reviews for respective craft discipline, creating readiness review packages for IWPs.
- Maintain workface planning storyboards for key scopes.
- Validate IWP sequencing with construction execution, testing, startup priorities, and project earnings curves.
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience installing piping on large Oil & Gas or process industry projects.
- Experience preparing piping installation and test work packages.
- Proficiency in reading drawings, interpreting design documents, specifications, and industry standards and codes.
- Knowledge of ASME B31.3/B31.1.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with piping and equipment installation.
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections, including extensive walking on construction sites (often in high heat and humidity), climbing ladders and scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, and small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must walk into and out of the project (enter/egress) and use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.
