Travel: Yes, 25% of the time.

• Support a maintenance program for Northrop Grumman's E-6 aircraft, performing repairs and modifications on aircraft structures, components, and engines.
• Read and interpret manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair or replacement.
• Apply knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair to maintenance tasks.
• Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and written instructions for troubleshooting and repair.
• Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs, including electrical wiring system adjustments, replacement of components, and inspections of jet engine turbine blades, jet engines, and other systems.
• Execute 100‑hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections; inspect reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders, oil leaks, and other defects.
• Perform pre‑flight, through‑flight, and post‑flight maintenance inspections.
• Maintain aircraft logs and records, and provide guidance and technical expertise to lower‑level technicians throughout aircraft modifications and maintenance efforts.
• Perform miscellaneous duties such as flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.

• Has served at least 180 days on active duty
• Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
• Will receive an honorable discharge
• Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
• Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
• Received Unit Commander written authorization and approval to participate in DoD Skill Bridge Program prior to start of internship

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
• Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours.
• Able to change physical locations based on need (including ability to travel).
• Physical ability to be subject to a variety of conditions and environments.
• Ability to wear respirator or other safety gear.
• Ability to work in areas that may cause phobias due to height or closed spaces.
• Meets DoD Skill Bridge qualifications per DODI 1322.29.
• Preferred: A&P license.
• Preferred: E‑6B/707 experience.
• Preferred:
  Ability to obtain or maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
