In this role you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on the Louisiana LNG project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, coordinate subcontract work activities and team development, ensuring craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures and job‑site rules, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.
Major Responsibilities- Receives assignments with clear goals and defines the process to meet those goals.
- Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
- Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.
- Recommends changes to policies that affect the immediate organization.
- Determines workforce requirements and coordinates established area operational plans.
- Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site, oversees preparation of field material requisitions, ensuring crafts have the tools required for productivity.
- Ensures the most current design documents are used and all design changes are approved before implementation.
- Ensures construction operations and subcontractors’ performance comply with specifications, schedules and budgets.
- Interprets engineering design documents, vendor documents and other technical documents in collaboration with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Oversees engineering solutions with subcontractors, Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with rotating and static equipment.
- Knowledge of planning and scheduling development.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Smart Plant Review and document‑database navigation.
- Understanding of Project Environmental, Safety & Health requirements and application.
- Knowledge of the project’s ES&H handbook, the supervisor’s ES&H manual, the project safety management plan and Bechtel’s core processes.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
- Previous direct‑hire experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of LNG facility installations.
- Demonstrated leadership in a team‑based environment.
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including walking throughout a construction site, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working on elevated platforms and uneven surfaces, and operating in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required, and use of appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
