Project Overview

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed‑refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre‑treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups.

The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000 m³ full‑containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary

As the Project ES&H Representative, you will provide ES&H advice, promote health and safety, and coordinate activities to maintain a safe project environment. You will champion ES&H, foster a positive safety culture, coach personnel, and support the project workforce.

Major Responsibilities
  • Assist with implementation of Bechtel’s ES&H program and Management System, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and contracts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety and health programs, systems, and procedures.
  • Maintain ES&H databases, including incident events, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify trends and driving factors for continuous improvement.
  • Identify and support ES&H software systems and electronic innovations.
  • Lead teams in risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring.
  • Prepare communications, reports, and documents for program execution and records retention.
  • Assist with incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare investigation reports.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to minimize hazard potential.
  • Participate in and possibly lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
  • Research complex issues and provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
  • Support ES&H field and office personnel across all disciplines.
Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5 + years of relevant experience, or 8 + years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Provide safety technical support, coordinating safety requirements and risk reduction with engineering, construction, subcontractors, and other ES&H representatives.
  • Coach and mentor to improve conditions and behaviors; advise customers, project team members, and subcontractors on ES&H requirements.
  • Conduct ES&H inspections and assessments to monitor compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Attend and support daily Pre‑Start and Focus4

    Safety Card Meetings and arrive at the designated work location by shift start time.
  • Attend and support ES&H program activities, including Leadership Engagement Walkdowns, Near Miss Reporting, Weekly Supervisor Safety Meetings, and Supervisor Mentoring Program.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills and knowledge of computer applications.
Other Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of national environmental and safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies’ processes and responsibilities, industry standards/practices, and best management practices for minimizing ES&H risks.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction systems, methods, and work processes.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication and knowledge of computer applications.
Physical Requirements

Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections, including walking on a construction site often in high heat and high humidity, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, on uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Ability to enter and exit the project site and to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.
