District 07 - Unit 207 - Lake Charles Construction

The purpose of this project analyst - manager position is to assist the project engineer with managing DOTD construction projects. The position exercises functional supervision over lower-level engineering technicians to ensure that quality materials and workmanship are used to construct DOTD projects in accordance with DOTD project specifications.

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED plus four years of sub-professional engineering experience, one year of which must have been in a position equivalent or higher in scope of responsibility and/or complexity of work performed to an Engineering Technician 4 in state service; OR
• A current Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate issued by the Project Management Institute; OR
• A bachelor's degree in an architecture, construction, industrial or engineering field.

• Coordinates project activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of engineering technicians and other project personnel.
• Assists the Project Engineer with the supervision and operation of the construction office, as well as the supervision or performance of work involving the maintenance, construction, or repair of transportation and public works structures.
• Reviews project plans before and during construction. Reviews and verifies all plan dimensions, vertical and horizontal controls and verifies the location of structures such as bridges, roadways and drainage.
• Checks project quantities, corrects any errors and furnishes calculations for adjustment.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Project Analyst 1, 2, or Project Manager

Work Schedule: Work hours may vary

Compensation: Below is the starting hourly rate for each level.

• Project Analyst 1: $21.00/hourly
• Project Analyst 2: $22.47/hourly
• Project Manager: $25.72/hourly
