Production Reliability Engineer - $115,000 - $125,000
A growing chemical manufacturer is seeking a Production Reliability Engineer to support manufacturing operations through process optimization, mechanical reliability improvements, and capital project execution. This position combines process engineering, production support, equipment reliability, and project engineering within a chemical manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot chemical manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, capacity, and operating efficiency
- Analyze production performance and implement corrective actions to improve plant operations
- Lead or support plant trials, startups, commissioning, and process modifications
- Develop and revise PFDs, P&IDs, process documentation, mass balances, and energy balances
- Develop project scopes and manage capital projects from design through commissioning and startup
- Specify process equipment and coordinate with equipment vendors
- Improve the reliability of reactors, agitators, pumps, heat exchangers, filters, and related process equipment
- Lead mechanical predictive maintenance initiatives and reliability improvements
- Participate in PHA, JSA, and PPA activities
- Write operating procedures and provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance
- Perform data analysis to support production and continuous improvement initiatives
- BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required
- 5-7 years of engineering experience within a chemical manufacturing plant
- Experience troubleshooting and improving chemical manufacturing processes
- Experience with mechanical equipment design, reliability, and process equipment
- Experience leading capital projects from design through startup
- Ability to develop and interpret PFDs and P&IDs
- Experience working directly with Operations, Maintenance, and Production teams
- Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
- Predictive maintenance and reliability engineering
- Process hazard analysis (PHA), JSA, or PPA participation
- Process equipment including reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, filters, and agitators
