Our client, a leading aerospace engineering and aircraft completions organization, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting Aircraft Completions, Modifications, and VIP/VVIP Interior Projects. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana or Dallas, TX

Job Type: 12plus months Contract, Potential to Convert

Pay Range: $50-56/hr

What's the Job?
  • Develop mechanical designs, engineering drawings, installation packages, and technical documentation for aircraft interior and structural modification projects.
  • Design and analyze aircraft interior components including seating installations, monuments, cabinetry, galleys, lavatories, partitions, and structural assemblies.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support structural integrity, material selection, and system integration requirements.
  • Coordinate with certification, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and production objectives.
  • Support troubleshooting, design reviews, aircraft surveys, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
What's Needed?
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as CATIA, Solid Works, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, or similar design platforms.
  • Experience creating engineering drawings, technical documentation, and design packages.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and project coordination.
What's Preferred?
  • Experience with aircraft completions, modifications, MRO, or aerospace manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with VIP/VVIP aircraft platforms such as Gulfstream, Boeing BBJ, or Airbus ACJ.
  • Knowledge of FAA, EASA, and aviation certification requirements.
  • Experience with aircraft interiors, cabin systems, monuments, or structural modifications.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, EIT certification, or experience with PLM systems is a plus.
