Medical Assistant

We're looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Nursing Department in the Behavioral Health Division. Our Behavioral Health Services division provides comprehensive and coordinated outpatient services to individuals with mental illness and/or an addictive disorder (alcohol, drugs, gambling) for both adults and children.

• Two years of experience in administrative services in a healthcare setting; OR
• Two years of experience or training in patient care; OR
• An associate's degree or certificate in a medical assistant training program.

• Take and record measures of patient's general physical condition (vital signs, waist circumference, weight/height/BMI)
• Collect specimens for urinedrug screens (UDS)
• Collect specimens for urine pregnancy testing (UPT)
• Measure blood alcohol concentration (BAC)
• Complete lab order forms, track & gather lab results
• Offer patient and family education
• Guide patients through clinic transitions
• Document information regarding patient care and behavior
• Coordinate care for high acuity patients, aftercare, PECs
• Facilitate community & primary care referrals

Appointment Type: Probational
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
