St. Joseph Hospice is seeking an experienced PRN
Nurse Practitioner to join our hospice healthcare team in the Lake Charles, LA area.

Essential daily duties include:

• Provide primary medical care and palliative care for chronic and acute illnesses to patients who are home-bound or have difficulty traveling to a physician’s office
• Provide physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases
• Interpret laboratory and test results
• Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies all with an emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention

Qualifications:

• Current LA license required
• Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner
• Problem-solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations
• Hospice or Palliative care experience preferred
• Experience in EMR preferred
• Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) – company-paid ownership benefit
• Competitive pay with increased earning potential
• Mileage reimbursement (adjusted for fuel price changes)
