As a leader in patient care, you will use the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Scope & Standards of Practice. You will effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members; assume accountability for quality outcomes; exhibit sensitivity to diversity; participate in unit and department goals; and support Ochsner’s philosophy of nursing.

• Effectively use the nursing process to deliver patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patients, families, and disciplines.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing resources (human and fiscal) and serve as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and the nursing profession.
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communication style.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Education – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (preferred – Bachelor’s degree in nursing).
• Work Experience – None.
• Certifications – Current RN license in state of practice;
  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association;
  Preferred – Certification in clinical specialty area.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Strong organizational and detail‑oriented skills; good time management and self‑directed work in a fast‑paced environment; good interpersonal, delegation, and leadership skills with good judgement; ability to handle confidential information; proficiency in computers, software, and web‑based applications.

Heavy work:
Exerting 50–100 pounds occasionally, 25–50 pounds frequently, or 10–20 pounds constantly to move objects. Duties involve exposure to blood, body fluid, tissue, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste. The role requires walking, standing, and moving objects with continual production pace.
