Shift/
Schedule:
M-F, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, On-call: 1–2 times per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday–Sunday), Floating between St. Patrick Campus and Lake Area campus as needed
Type of patients/cases on the unit:
Limited Pediatric (Client only), Adult, Geriatric. This position is mainly for the St Patrick Campus which does Client (Mako Total knees/total hip/gamma nails), Podiatry (bunion/ankle Products/ankle and foot fractures), Hand (fractures/CClient), Spine/Crani (ALIF/DLIF/TLIF/Kypho/Crani), General (chole/appy/hernia/colon/robotic), Urology (TURP/cysto/stones). The float campus would be Lake Area which has Pain, ENT (including pediatric), Urology, Gynecology, Podiatry, General and some Client
- Provide independent nursing care in the Operating Room setting for routine and complex surgical cases
- Perform patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring effectiveness and side effects
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans and treatment needs
- Delegate tasks appropriately and collaborate with other care providers
- Work with patient populations including limited pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Cases include Orthopedics (Mako total knees/hips, gamma nails), Podiatry, Hand surgery, Spine/Crani, General surgery, Urology, ENT, Gynecology, and Pain management
- Active RN License in state of employment or Compact License required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience in Operating Room/Surgical nursing preferred
- Ability to float between OR campuses as needed
- Must be comfortable with on-call requirements
- BSN preferred
- Prior OR experience with orthopedic, spine, general, urology, podiatry, ENT, gynecology, or pediatric cases preferred
- Experience in similar clinical setting preferred
