Occupation Health Supervisor

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Employee Health Supervisor is responsible for planning coordinating and supervising the Employee Health Program to promote the health safety and well being of employees This role oversees employee health services occupational health surveillance immunization programs annual influenza compliance respiratory protection and fit testing regulatory compliance infection prevention collaboration and wellness initiatives The Employee Health Supervisor ensures compliance with federal state and accreditation standards while fostering a healthy and safe work environment

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Occupational Health department
  • Provide leadership coaching and performance management for Occupational Health staff
  • Develop implement and maintain employee health policies procedures and evidence based practices
  • Coordinate pre employment annual and periodic employee health screenings including medical evaluations and fitness for duty assessments
  • Manage employee immunization and vaccination programs in accordance with CDC OSHA and organizational guidelines
  • Lead the organizations annual influenza vaccination program including planning employee education vaccine administration coordination compliance monitoring exemption review documentation reporting and follow up to ensure organizational vaccination goals and regulatory requirements are achieved
  • Oversee and maintain the Respiratory Protection Program including medical clearance coordination annual N95 respirator fit testing documentation employee education and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain confidential employee health records in compliance with HIPAA and applicable privacy regulations
  • Conduct health surveillance programs for employees with occupational exposures including blood borne pathogens tuberculosis respiratory protection and other required monitoring
  • Collaborate with Infection Control to evaluate employee exposures to communicable diseases and coordinate appropriate follow up testing work restrictions and return to work clearance
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA standards CMS Conditions of Participation Joint CommissionDNV standards and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Analyze employee health data and compliance metrics including immunization influenza vaccination tuberculosis surveillance and respiratory protection compliance and prepare reports for leadership
  • Develop and deliver employee education related to occupational health infection prevention immunizations respiratory protection exposure prevention and employee wellness
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Nursing Leadership Infection Control Safety and department managers to promote employee health initiatives
  • Support organizational wellness initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles and disease prevention
  • Maintain department quality improvement activities and participate in organizational performance improvement projects
  • Assist with policy development regulatory surveys accreditation readiness activities and regulatory audits
  • Ensure timely documentation and reporting required by regulatory agencies and organizational policies

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Current Registered Nurse RN license in the applicable state
  • One year of experience in Employee Health Occupational Health Infection Prevention Public Health or a related specialty preferred
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Basic computer skill;
  • Basic mathematical skill
  • Ability to define and solve problems individually
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work Environment Remaining in a stationary position often sitting for prolonged periods Repeating motions that may include the wrists hands andor fingers Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

Work is primarily sedentary in an office setting located off site Office hours are Monday through Friday during the day May be required to work off shifts as needed on weekends or on holidays based on projects
