American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel position requiring AWHONN or NCC fetal monitoring certification and NRP certification.

• Labor and Delivery unit caring for deliveries, circulating c-sections, and antepartum patients
• Provides initial newborn assessments following delivery
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required
• Follows AWHONN nurse-to-patient ratio standards, including 1:1 for Pitocin induction/augmentation, 1:2 for cervical ripening, 1:2-3 for antepartum and triage, and 1:1 for immediate postpartum care

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Certification required in one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM, AWHONN Intermediate FHM Instructor, AWHONN Advanced FHM Instructor, AWHONN Instructor Trainer, or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent Perinatal setting experience preferred

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Educates patients and families on care needs and available resources
• Navy blue or pink scrubs required
• Must complete New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
• Precepted by a designated trained staff member with completion of organizational and Perinatal Services-specific competency validations
• Must complete all annual competency verification requirements
• Previous non-travel employment with any CHRISTUS facility requires a 6-month separation before eligibility for a travel assignment
