The Office of Juvenile Justice is seeking a dedicated Probation & Parole Officer - Juvenile to support youth supervision, treatment coordination, and community-based services across a multi-parish region. This role is ideal for professionals who excel in communication, case management, and working collaboratively with families, courts, and service providers.
As a PPO-Juvenile, you’ll help guide youth through structured treatment plans, support placement decisions, and maintain consistent contact with families and providers. You’ll contribute to safe, appropriate service delivery, assist with court-related documentation, and help ensure youth receive the interventions needed for long-term success.

Special Requirements :
- Three years of experience in corrections or law enforcement; OR
- Three years of continuous active military duty (all Military Occupational Specialties apply); OR
- Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
- A bachelor's degree.
- Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
- Necessary special requirements: An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
- Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license.
- This position may require the incumbent to handle and carry firearms.
- Willingness and ability to complete the Corrections Juvenile Services-Agent Curriculum.
- Coordinates youth care and supervision - manages treatment and placement activities for youth in non-secure residential care and community supervision across a multi-parish region.
- Conducts assessments - completes risk and SAVRY assessments to determine need areas, risk level, contact frequency, and intervention strategies.
- Develops and monitors service plans - maintains contact with youth, families, and providers; evaluates progress; updates Individual Service Plans; and participates in case staffings.
- Prepares court-related documentation - completes social histories, supplemental studies, PDIs, home studies, FAST forms, and referral packets; testifies in court as needed.
- Coordinates community resources - identifies appropriate services, ensures least-restrictive placements, and collaborates with courts, providers, and secure-care staff.
- Ensures compliance and program monitoring - monitors residential and community programs, assists with audits, and ensures adherence to standards and policies.
- Provides transportation and support - transports youth, assists other agency programs, and coordinates Interstate Compact cases.
