Remote Status: On‑Site
Senior Inspector – Maintenance Engineering & Inspection Lake City, FL – District 2 Responsibilities- Familiarity with the Department’s procedures covering project‑related duties and proficiency in the computer programs necessary to perform those duties.
- Exercise independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to field aspects of the project.
- Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
- Coordinate and manage lower‑level inspectors.
- Perform work under general supervision of the Project Administrator.
- Full‑time position; may be required to work some nights and weekends as the construction schedule requires.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Fleet drivers must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Complete pre‑employment screening; ICE is a drug‑free workplace.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- One year of CEI/MEI experience with roadway or bridge structures or four years of CEI/MEI experience in roadway or bridge construction required.

- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
- CTQP Concrete Transportation Construction Inspector (CTCI) Level II (all bridges)
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
- CTQP Grouting Technician Level I
- CTQP Post‑Tensioning Technician Level I
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- FNGLA Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA)
- FCLT Florida Certified Landscape Technician
- Current licensure from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs in herbicide core curriculum, right of way, and aquatics.
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
The role involves moderate physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs or ladders. Employees may occasionally lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds. The role requires visual discernment of details and colors, sound, tone, and pitch recognition, effective verbal and written communication, and the capacity to adapt to workflow interruptions and changes. Employees must work in hot, cold, and noisy settings, stand and walk during site visits, and may be required to work nights and weekends depending on project scope.
Hoursof Operation
ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule.
